I currently live in NM and I have to say that it really is beautiful here. I have never seen purple mountains before. The nights are warm and the mornings are cold but it is good for a change. I have lived in Texas where the days are long and hot and hard to sleep at night. It is good to get some diversity and to adventure and take in the sites. You learn a lot from the different cultures of people right here in our own country. In the mountains of Colorado I learned that people were down-to-earth but then again when something unusual happens they do not know what to do. In the cities I learned that people were more out for their selves and moved like that of a snake. And some have the soul of a weasel but both of them are stealing each others eggs! In the woods I saw the soul of an eagle and it sat on a branch and watched me from afar and I knew that the eagle was very wise. I thought to myself that we should learn from the creatures of earth because they do not speak there for they do not lie. I walked further down the road and saw a wolf and he was hunting for his family. I went to the sea and saw a fish griping on to the rocks as the fast tide rolled in to the shore. All the other animals were swept into the sea except for the fish. He gleamed like a star and his symbol was strength. I have seen two birds nestled on a branch and they were sharing a kiss in the evening sun and tending to their young. As the day comes for me I hope that I can fly away. A short story by Jason Shira
